Frequently Asked Questions
Why are your prices so low?
We think this question should be "why are other clinic prices so high?" There are only a few clinics that have been helping Missouri residents get their medical marijuana card since the beginning of the program in 2019. We are Missouri owned and operated clinics serving our communities, not big companies serving several states. Our clinics are less expensive, because we prioritize serving patients in our communities.
What are the State Fees for getting a card?
The state charges additional fees as follows:
New/Renewing Patient Application Fee - $25.94
Patient Cultivator Application Fee - $103.73
Application Processing Fee - $1.83
How long does it all take?
If you are a Health and Life Missouri Patient, your Electronic Physician Certifications are generally available within one hour after your appointment. We will send you an email letting you know we have uploaded it to the state and it is ready for your application.
If Health and Life Missouri is preparing your state application, you will be notified your application is ready to submit to the state within one hour of your appointment. This is assuming you have filled out your patient form and verified your state account before your appointment time.
Your state application, once submitted, will generally be processed by the state within 10-12 days. BUT, they have up to 30 days to process.
What do I need for my state application?
Your state application will ask you to provide the following:
- Identifying Information, including your name, date of birth, social security number, contact information, and residence/mailing address
- Documentation, including your Physician Certification, proof of residency, a copy of a state-issued photo ID, and a color photo of your face

Can I use my out-of-state ID for my state application?
Yes. Any valid state- or federally-issued photo ID satisfies the state's photo I.D. requirement. You will also have to prove residency, so be prepared to upload a picture of a utility bill, or vehicle registration.
Can I grow my own medical marijuana plants?
Yes! Patient Cultivation can be added to your license at any time. The state will charge a $103.73 application fee upon submission. Your cultivation license will allow you to grow 6 plants less than 14 inches tall, 6 plants over 14 inches tall but not in flower, and 6 plants in flower. It also increases the amount of dried processed flower you can possess (at home) to 3 months worth, or 12 oz. If you would like help adding cultivation to your license, give us a call and we can walk you through it.
Can I go to more than one dispensary?

How much medical marijuana can I buy?
Licensed Medical Marijuana Patients can purchase up to 4 oz. of dried, processed flower, or it's equivalent in oil, tinctures, and edibles every 30 days. Dispensaries use a statewide tracking system to monitor your purchase amounts, so don't worry about going over, they won't let you.
I've been using 4oz a month but it's not enough. Can I get my monthly amount increased?
Yes! The state allows patients to apply for an "alternative amount" for patients who have a need for more than the normal limit. This increase request requires patients receive 2 physician certifications recommending an increase for the patient.
Will my medical marijuana card be mailed to me?
No. The state will notify you of your approval through email. Once you receive this email you will need to log back into your account to download your license. If you came through Health and Life Missouri, and you let us know you were approved, we can download your license and email it to you.
Can just anyone find out I have my medical marijuana card?
No. The information used for your physician certification visit and state application is protected by HIPAA. Only Law Enforcement verifying if you are a licensed patient through the MULES system, and people you tell yourself, will have access to your medical marijuana card status.
